Pendragon, the uncrowned kings of melodic neo-prog, are heading out on tour in Europe this September for a small number of carefully selected shows. A stop in Pratteln is, of course, a must. This year, the band led by mastermind Nick Barrett will present a hand-picked selection of favourites from their rich back catalogue, as well as the album The World performed in its entirety. A perfect opportunity to once again dive into the dreamlike prog-rock universe of Pendragon. Pendragon are returning to Pratteln this year, bringing a very special record with them on tour. The 1991 longplayer The World marked an immensely important step in the band\u2019s career, as it defined Pendragon\u2019s sound for the following ten years (meaning three further albums and two EPs). In addition to this 1991 masterpiece, fans can look forward to more gems, classics and fan favourites from Pendragon\u2019s outstanding repertoire. An incredible event for progressive rock fans that left nothing to be desired.\u201d <\/p>\n A look at the band\u2019s history: Founded in 1978 by mastermind Nick Barrett in the English county of Gloucestershire, Pendragon celebrated their first successes when their then-manager booked the up-and-coming band Marillion for a joint tour in 1982. The two bands got along famously, and further tours followed, allowing Pendragon to steadily grow their fanbase in the slipstream of the rising stars Marillion. In 1983, they played in front of more than 30,000 enthusiastic fans at the legendary Reading Festival and recorded a session for the popular BBC radio show Tommy Vance\u2019s Rock Show. Other milestones in the band\u2019s history include the founding of their own label Toff Records in 1987 and the release of the album The Masquerade Overture in 1996, which sold over 90,000 copies. Over the years, Pendragon cemented their position as one of the UK\u2019s leading progressive rock bands through consistently high-quality releases.
