GUITAR FIREWORKS AT Z7
It hardly gets more guitar-powered than this: Krissy Matthews brings his GUITARMANIA 2027 to Z7, assembling an impressive international line-up from the worlds of blues, blues rock, classic rock and heavy rock. Joining him are Eric Gales, Eric Steckel, Russell Marsden of Band Of Skulls, Pablo van de Poel of DeWolff, Óskar Logi of The Vintage Caravan, Swiss guitarist Philipp “Bluedög” Gerber and Rory Evans. Together with host Krissy Matthews, they promise an extraordinary concert night dedicated to the six-string.
The idea behind GUITARMANIA is as simple as it is compelling: Krissy Matthews brings together some of his favourite guitarists, allowing different styles, generations and personalities to meet on one stage. The British-Norwegian guitarist was already playing with John Mayall at the age of twelve, and later crossed paths with the likes of B.B. King and Jeff Healey. Today, Matthews tours internationally with his own projects as well as being a permanent member of the Hamburg Blues Band. In 2026, his GUITARMANIA went on a major tour for the first time – with such success that the spectacle returns even bigger in 2027. The line-up is impressive: Eric Gales is one of the most renowned blues rock guitarists of his generation, combining blues, rock, funk and psychedelic influences. Eric Steckel stands for an explosive blend of blues and powerful hard rock, which also defines his current album “Sandstorm”. Russell Marsden brings the blues, garage and alternative rock of Band Of Skulls, while Pablo van de Poel of DeWolff represents Southern rock, blues, soul and psychedelic sounds. Óskar Logi Ágústsson of The Vintage Caravan completes the international line-up with a mixture of heavy blues, classic and progressive rock. Switzerland is represented as well: Solothurn guitarist Philipp “Bluedög” Gerber was already part of the successful GUITARMANIA 2026. Also returning is British guitarist Rory Evans, whom Matthews considers one of the most technically accomplished guitarists he knows. Slawek Semeniuk on bass and Gerry Reynders on drums provide the musical foundation. When eight such different guitarists come together, variety is guaranteed: blues meets hard rock, psychedelic sounds collide with garage rock, and intricate playing encounters crushing riffs. GUITARMANIA is no ordinary concert, but a summit meeting for everyone who loves guitar music.
