DEEP PURPLE – MADE IN ITALY

All good things come in threes: After their acclaimed shows in autumn 2024 and December 2025, the world’s only all-female Deep Purple tribute band Strange Kind of Women returns to Z7 once again in 2026. On September 18, the five musicians will bring the magic of the British hard rock legends back to our stage – authentic and with unstoppable energy.

Only a few tribute bands truly manage to match their idols in both sound and performance. Strange Kind of Women deliver outstanding work that is praised by fans and critics alike. What these rock ladies are capable of was experienced firsthand by Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice. At a concert in Graz, he joined them on stage for a jam. Afterwards, he said: “It’s really great fun to play with them. They do a fantastic job, have a great sound and give it their all on stage. I thoroughly enjoyed performing with them.” The members of the band are all professional musicians who have already achieved success with various other projects. Band leader and guitarist Eliana Cargnelutti is considered one of the most promising figures in the Italian blues rock scene. On vocals is the Italian-Canadian singer Victoria Moro, aka Ronnie Grace. They are joined by Chiara Cotugno (drums), Margherita Gruden (Hammond, keys) and Paola Zadra (bass). When Deep Purple helped shape the hard rock scene in the 1970s with songs like “Highway Star,” “Child In Time” and “Smoke On The Water,” these five musicians had not even been born yet. But for several years now, they have been living out their passion for this music in powerful live performances, delivering a captivating impression of the work of the iconic band founded in London in 1968. In September 2024, SKOW performed at Z7 for the first time.
