A NEW ERA BEGINS
New singer, new album and a new tour: The Dead Daisies are heading into a new era. With former Foreigner frontman Kelly Hansen on vocals, David Lowy’s all-star band begins a new chapter in 2027. The major European tour stops at Z7 on 14 March, with British rock’n’roll veterans The Quireboys and Swedish hard rockers The Gems joining as special guests.
Following a comparatively quiet 2026, The Dead Daisies return with a bang. Kelly Hansen was the voice of Foreigner for around two decades and now takes over the microphone for the Daisies, joining guitarist Doug Aldrich, band founder David Lowy, drummer Tommy Clufetos and new bassist Jimi Crutchley in the current line-up. Hansen and Aldrich are also reuniting as longtime musical companions: the two already played together in US hard rock band Hurricane around 35 years ago. The single “Lift Me Up” offers a first taste of this new era, before the next studio album follows in 2027. Since their formation in 2012, The Dead Daisies have stood for uncompromising classic and hard rock, with a line-up that has repeatedly featured major names from the international rock scene. They have shared stages with bands such as Kiss, Guns N’ Roses, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Whitesnake and Judas Priest and have appeared at some of Europe’s biggest rock festivals. The Daisies last played at Z7 in autumn 2024, delivering a fantastic best-of show with Reb Beach filling in for the then-ill Doug Aldrich. Now, 2027 marks the beginning of an entirely new chapter – with a new voice, new music and a band clearly eager to get going again.
The Dead Daisies are:
Kelly Hansen (Foreigner, Hurricane) – vocals
Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio, Hurricane) – guitar
David Lowy (Red Phoenix/Mink) –guitar
Tommy Clufetos (Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent etc.) – drums
Jimi Crutchley (The Quireboys) – bass
The Quireboys have stood for British rock’n’roll with plenty of blues, glam and gritty pub-rock charm since the late 1980s. With songs such as “7 O’Clock”, “Hey You” and “I Don’t Love You Anymore”, as well as their successful debut “A Bit Of What You Fancy”, the band around frontman Spike made an international name for themselves. More than three decades later, the British rock’n’roll veterans are still going strong, combining their greatest classics with more recent material such as the 2024 album “Wardour Street”.
The Gems are among the most exciting new hard rock bands from Sweden. Guernica Mancini, Mona “Demona” Lindgren and Emlee Johansson had already made a name for themselves together in Thundermother before forming The Gems in 2023. Their debut album “Phoenix” was released in 2024, followed by “Year Of The Snake” in March 2026. On it, the trio deliver energetic modern hard rock with strong melodies, heavy riffs and Mancini’s distinctive voice.
