HYMNS TO LIFE
KUNZ is back! With Stadt Land Fluss Poet, the award-winning dialect musician from Lucerne presents eleven brand-new songs. Whether stripped-down ballads or driving pop anthems – each one is a declaration of love to life itself.
Even as a father of four, KUNZ isn’t entirely sure how he found the time to create his seventh studio album: “It kind of happened between one thing and another,” he says with a laugh. And perhaps that’s exactly why Stadt Land Fluss Poet feels so special – because it comes from someone right in the middle of life. A poet of everyday moments who finds meaning in the small things and shines a light on ordinary people: “Every small person is ‘the world’ to someone,” says Kunz. He captures this beautifully in “Die ganzi Wäut,” his duet with Anna Känzig.
Here is an artist urging us to embrace the beauty around us: “Happiness is fleeting – hold on to it when you have it!” The master of Swiss-German folk looks 99 years into the future and 99 years into the past. “Even back then, people felt like the world was coming to an end,” says KUNZ. “If I can give people a bit of hope and encourage them to hold on to their confidence, then that’s a good thing.” He does it with infectious joie de vivre. And that’s powerful – because optimism is not for the faint-hearted.
