EXPLOSIVE ENERGY
With their latest album “We Should Be Buried Like This”, Finnish modern death metal heroes Bloodred Hourglass present themselves more uncompromising, heavier and darker than ever before. In spring 2027, BRHG return to Z7 for one of their explosive live performances. With Brymir and Pridian on the bill, the supporting line-up leaves nothing to be desired either.
Formed in 2005 as a thrash and groove metal band, Bloodred Hourglass from Mikkeli, Finland, have gradually moved away from their roots over the years and developed into a dominant force within the modern melodic death metal scene. Across seven full-length albums, BRHG have consistently evolved their sound and incorporated new elements without losing their characteristic intensity. On their latest album “We Should Be Buried Like This”, Jarkko Koukonen (vocals), Lauri Silvonen (guitar/vocals), Jose Moilanen (bass), Jarkko Hyvönen (drums), Joni Lahdenkauppi (guitar) and Eero Silvonen (guitar) have once again created haunting soundscapes where melody and aggression collide. With “We Should Be Buried Like This”, the Finnish powerhouse delivers a bold and relentless statement from a band that continues to refine and perfect its sound. BRHG have long distinguished themselves through their ability to combine the ferocity of thrash and groove metal with metalcore, alternative and melodic death into one cohesive whole. The result is as dynamic and emotional as it is heavy and entertaining – a combination that has earned them a loyal international fanbase and widespread critical acclaim. Metal.de wrote about the latest release: “The tracks are denser, nastier and more focused than on previous releases. Aggressive vocals meet synth fragments, blast beats and melodies battle each other, creating a merciless symbiosis. No randomness, no noise – but structured escalation with a clear purpose.” On 27 February, the tour destination is Pratteln. We are ready for an intense night of blazing riffs, explosive energy and captivating emotional depth.
Brymir: Finnish melodic death metal rising stars Brymir return with their long-awaited new album. The five-piece band – consisting of guitarist Joona Björkroth (Battle Beast), frontman and producer Viktor Storm Gullichsen, drummer Patrik Fält (Feastem, ex-Afgrund), guitarist Sean Haslam and bassist Jarkko Niemi – was founded in 2006 under the name Lai Lai Hei. Performing as Brymir since 2009, the musicians from Helsinki and Uusimaa already made a major impact on the scene with their debut “Breathe Fire To The Sun” (2011), combining folk metal influences with cinematic soundscapes and hard-hitting, fast-paced melodic death metal. With their fourth album and Napalm Records debut “Voices In The Sky”, Brymir impressively demonstrated their evolution in 2022, delivering a fresh and powerful record in the vein of bands such as Ensiferum, Wintersun and Children Of Bodom. With pristine production, massive grooves and impressive technical skills, Brymir represent a fresh sound within the genre while continuing to draw inspiration from traditional folk and classical music. We eagerly await album number five and a live performance that combines outstanding musical precision, opulent arrangements and untamed rawness into an incomparable concert experience.
Pridian: Founded in Tartu, Estonia, in 2018, the quartet plays an energetic yet atmospheric interpretation of modern metalcore, combining complex structures with cinematic atmospheres. With their debut album “The Rotten Unknown” (2021), released while still operating under the name ÆØNS, they had already developed their style to an impressive level, with technicality and songwriting reminiscent of Meshuggah, 2010s djent and Deftones-inspired post-hardcore. Four years later, the band returned with fresh material under their new name Pridian. The album “Venetian Dark” reveals a band that has grown enormously both conceptually and musically, taking every step of the process – from songwriting to production – into their own hands. Elements of EDM and infectious nu-metal hooks now also find their way into the material, which dynamically, powerfully and virtuously demonstrates that Pridian have no reason to hide within the international metalcore scene.
