REITERMANIA IN PRATTELN: 30 YEARS OF DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER
After three decades in the music business, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter are still charging ahead at full gallop. Following the release of their anniversary album, the band will hit various summer festivals before rounding off the year with the “Freie Republik Reitermania – 30th Anniversary Tour”, including a stop at Z7. Originally announced as special guest, Robse was set to join the big birthday celebration, presenting songs from the acclaimed debut Harlekin und Krieger alongside brand-new bangers.
Die Apokalyptischen Reiter show no signs of slowing down. Thirty years under their belt—and still no end in sight. After their final shows in December 2024, they told fans: “We’re looking forward to 2025 with you. 30 Years Reiter Anniversary. Album, open airs, tour – let’s celebrate Reitermania!” And celebrate they will. Following the tour, the band headed straight back into the studio, fueling anticipation with updates like “It’s starting. The drums for our anniversary have just been nailed down!”, “It’s growing and thriving”, and finally “It is done” and “30 Years Anniversary Album. Recording finished, mixing next.” Add to that summer festival announcements at Metal Frenzy, Wacken and Summer Breeze—and now comes the big news for all Z7 Reitermaniacs: on November 29, the band returns to Pratteln to celebrate their 30th anniversary with Swiss fans.
Three decades during which the band evolved from a wild death metal outfit into a phenomenal act that defies categorisation—blending extreme metal with folk and symphonic elements and an uncanny talent for catchy singalong melodies. Unpredictable, brutal yet melodic and sensitive, their lyrics span the full spectrum from love to downfall. Even after thirty intense years, there are still no rules in the world of the Weimar quartet—only artistic anarchy and a free flow of ideas and visions. And on stage, the band’s unstoppable momentum remains fully intact.
“Let’s celebrate, let’s scream – the year is drawing to a close and it should end loud and proud.” That was the motto when the band last played Z7 in December 2023 as part of the Schrei!nachten club tour. Diebuehrers.com wrote about the euphoric show: “Not only was the band in top form on stage, the fans in front of it sang along word-perfect, jumped, danced and clearly had a blast. Die Apokalyptischen Reiter delivered a brilliant show. No wishes were left unfulfilled that night.”
CANCELLATION: ROBSE AS SUPPORT FOR DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER
Unfortunately, Robse has had to cancel his appearance as support on the upcoming Die Apokalyptischen Reiter tour for personal reasons.
Cypecore will step in as replacement support.
Statement from ROBSE:
“Hello everyone,
some of you may already have heard about my difficult situation with my parents. After a long period of going back and forth and considering every possible scenario, I’ve now reached a painful conclusion: it is impossible for me to play the tour with Die Apokalyptischen Reiter.
Those who know me are aware of how much I love what I do—and that I’ve never cancelled shows lightly, not even with pneumonia. But caring for my parents currently requires all of my time and energy. Despite having assistance in place, I simply can’t be away from home for extended periods right now—I’m needed here every day.
I know painfully well that this difficult decision will disappoint many of you. I searched long and hard for a solution, but unfortunately couldn’t find one—and that breaks my heart.
I sincerely apologise to the Reiter, the organisers and, of course, my band.
Everything here is absolute chaos at the moment, and I’m powerless in the face of the situation.
With all my heart,
Yours, Robse”
