UDO IN CELEBRATION MODE

Udo Dirkschneider celebrates a triple anniversary in 2027! 75 – 40 – 20 is the magic formula: the German metal legend turns 75, his band U.D.O. marks 40 years, and in this anniversary year they release their 20th album. With the Three Times Anniversary Tour, U.D.O. will come to Pratteln in January to celebrate a massive party with Swiss fans.

Udo Dirkschneider was originally expected to follow in his father’s footsteps and take over the family tool factory in Wuppertal. But as his musical ambitions kept growing, he had to make a choice early on: “Take over the company or go insane – so I chose insanity.” Fortunately for all metal fans. With his bands Accept, U.D.O. and Dirkschneider, the singer has written music history over the past five decades and has become the embodiment of the Teutonic metal frontman. Since the 1980s, his unmistakable voice has shaped countless metal classics. Udo is a true icon of the genre who continues to redefine his legacy time and time again. And 2027 will be another milestone year. On April 6, he celebrates his 75th birthday – and gives himself the best present: with U.D.O., he will release their 20th studio album just in time for the start of the tour. The Three Times Anniversary release tour will once again bring Udo and his bandmates to Z7 in January. One thing is certain: when Dirkschneider takes the stage, it will be anthemic, heavy and absolutely authentic. About the last U.D.O. show with the Top 10 album Touchdown, Tinu from Metal Factory wrote: “They came, they played, and they tore the place apart. It was a great evening from a veteran band that still has a lot to say in metal.”
