COMEDY-METAL À LA FRANCAISE

Ultra Vomit are one of France’s most successful metal bands. In spring 2026, the parody masters from Nantes will make their way to German-speaking Switzerland for a show. With their Top 10 album Ultra Vomit et le Pouvoir de la Puissance, the Frenchmen once again cross borders and will present their million-stream hits live at Z7 for the very first time.

Ultra Vomit can do it all! Behind the parody metal outfit are four musicians who have mastered the art of taking the unmistakable sonic trademarks of successful rock, pop and metal bands and turning them into their own songs – topped off with utterly absurd lyrics. Bands such as Rammstein, AC/DC, Sabaton, Dimmu Borgir and Motörhead get mercilessly lampooned, just like French pop icon Mylène Farmer or global superstar Michael Jackson. Ultra Vomit are without question among the most successful metal bands in France: their third album Panzer Surprise went gold in 2017, racked up more than 50 million streams worldwide and well over 30 million YouTube views, and enabled the band to headline both the prestigious Hellfest and the French “Le Gros 4” tour in 2022 – a tongue-in-cheek nod to the legendary “Big 4” concerts featuring Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax. Even President Macron welcomed the quartet to the garden of the Élysée Palace for a heart-rending grindcore reprise of the French nursery rhyme Une Souris Verte. Ultra Vomit have managed to elevate their slapstick from amateur fun to a fully professional level. After the breakthrough success of Panzer Surprise, fans had to wait a long seven years for a follow-up. In 2024, Ultra Vomit returned with the mighty opus Le Pouvoir de la Puissance, their fourth album in 25 years as a band. According to the band, it features “16 hits and one shit song, huge riffs and the massive sound of producer Fred Duquesne (Mass Hysteria)” and climbed to number 6 in the French album charts. If my French teacher had played Ultra Vomit songs in school, I probably would have learned the language of our western neighbours with ease.
