THE GATHERING WITH ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN

Dutch alternative rock icons The Gathering celebrate their groundbreaking 1995 album Mandylion on the Mandylion 30th Anniversary Tour, reunited in the classic line-up with singer Anneke van Giersbergen. Important to note: this is not a reunion tour, but a small number of carefully selected, exclusive shows, focusing on Mandylion and other classics from the Anneke era. A must-see for all fans!

Originally, The Gathering had planned just two anniversary shows in August 2025 to celebrate Mandylion’s 30th birthday at Club Doornroosje in Nijmegen – the same 1,100-capacity venue where the double live album TG25: Live at Doornroosje was recorded ten years earlier. Demand for tickets to these two exclusive nights featuring former singer Anneke van Giersbergen and original guitarist Jelmer Wiersma was overwhelming, leading to the announcement of three additional shows. All five concerts sold out in no time!
As a result, further dates were added for 2026. To avoid any speculation, the band made it very clear from the start: this is not a reunion tour, but a limited number of special concerts celebrating the album’s 30th anniversary with the original line-up. We’re thrilled that Z7 is hosting one of these rare events. To set the mood, several anniversary editions of Mandylion will be released in September.
Mandylion was the first album recorded with Anneke van Giersbergen, who had joined the band a year earlier. With her arrival, the band signed a deal with Century Media, and this first collaboration marked their international breakthrough: reaching No. 20 in the Dutch charts, earning Gold status, and followed by extensive touring across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The rest is history.
On the Mandylion 30th Anniversary Tour, the temporarily reunited line-up will perform the entire Mandylion album along with additional songs from the Anneke era. Longtime fans can relive cherished memories, while a younger generation gets the rare chance to experience the atmosphere of a Gathering concert from the band’s formative years between 1994 and 2007.
