For three decades, RPWL from Freising in Bavaria have captivated fans with their sophisticated art rock. Their passion and creative energy seem limitless. With eleven studio albums and just as many live records to their name, the band unquestionably ranks among the most important representatives of the European prog rock scene.

Originally founded in 1997 as a Pink Floyd cover band, RPWL have stood for finest progressive rock for three decades – featuring expansive songs, keyboard and guitar solos included. The bombastic rock sound that was so frowned upon during the rise of punk and new wave in the early ’80s lives on in the music of this five-piece band. The elegant compositions of RPWL – whose name is formed from the initials of the original line-up – have long since found their devoted audience. With 22 albums and countless concerts across Europe, Mexico and the USA, the band has become an international name. Their sound often recalls Pink Floyd, not least because of singer Yogi Lang’s vocal tone, but also evokes other great progressive bands of the ’70s such as Supertramp or King Crimson. In 2025, RPWL celebrated the 20th anniversary of their landmark album World Through My Eyes. The anniversary tour in October 2025 became a triumphant highlight, with many shows completely sold out. Thanks to the professional recording of the tour, fans can now relive the magical atmosphere of those concerts again and again. The tracklist of World Through My Eyes – Live (released in May 2026) invites listeners to dive deep into the unique energy of RPWL live performances. The complete masterpiece World Through My Eyes was performed during the first part of the concerts, while the bonus track “New Stars Are Born” provided a majestic finale. This epic song unites everything RPWL stand for: profound melancholy, majestic melodies, virtuosic solos and captivating improvisations. The live release perfectly captures the magic of this special tour and offers an emotional retrospective of an extraordinary chapter in the band’s history.
